Poppy
1 year old / Female / 40 lbs
This girl definitely has a spring in her step! She loves pets, treats, toys and playing fetch. Poppy was rescued from a situation where someone had a lot of dogs and as the numbers grew, the training and outside socialization decreased. Poppy is getting used to normal things like brushing and walking on leash in a known environment. She is going to need someone extra special to help her grow and learn. Poppy plays well with balanced friendly dogs her size. She previously lived around cats. Not recommended for homes with small dogs, chickens or young children. Fenced yard required. No apartments or condos please. Poppy may need a couple meetings before she is comfortable enough to go home with someone new. If you are close to San Diego and interested in Poppy, please fill out our adoption application
Bella
2 1/2 years old / 34lbs / Female
Bella just finished whelping a litter of 7 amazing pups and now, she would like a family of her own. She was a great mom who loved having all of her pups’ attention. So much so that she will need the spotlight all to herself in her new home (no other dogs please). Previously, she was fine around cats who ignored her. Bella loves pets, treats and playing with toys. She is working on leash training and basic commands. Fenced yard required.
Elliott
2 year old / 35lbs / male
Elliott is a 2 year old deaf 35lb border collie mix. Elliott is very affectionate and loves to get pets and cuddles. He has learned basic skills like how to pay attention and follow commands using standard hand signals. This boy will need an owner who is home most of the time and the security of a fenced yard.
Elliott is a terrific hiking buddy, playmate and best friend for hanging out. His foster family calls him “fun size” and everyone simply adores his sweet nature.
Elliott thinks it’s ok to grab toys from his foster siblings and sometimes grabs fur when playing chase. He does it all in fun. However, because he is deaf, he does not hear the warnings of his playmates, nor does his young mind pay attention to subtle cues from the other dogs. This youngster will chase small animals and pester senior dogs. He should initially be the only dog in the home; no apartments or small children.

Swayze
3 years old / 45 lbs / female
Swayze is a sweet but fearful girl who was completely shut down when she arrived. She is making good progress in her foster home but still does not open up to new people. Swayze will need a very special someone who understands how to work with scared and shy dogs. She loves to eat, receive pets, be brushed and take naps close to her person. Swayze has been fine around her foster siblings but likes her own personal space. Unknown with cats but will definitely chase squirrels!
