Adoptable ARSD Dogs

Jessie

1 year old / Female/ 30lbs / Located in Thousand Oaks
Jessie is an absolute joy! She is a happy girl who enjoys attention from her people, loves to play and chew on her toys. Originally rescued from a commercial puppy mill, Jessie has made great progress within her foster home. She will need someone with the ability and willingness to help her learn new things like going for a walk, getting in/out of a car, enjoying the luxuries of freedom within her house / yard etc. Jessie has been very responsive in learning basic daily skills and she is crate trained. She will need to live and play with a friendly male dog her size or bigger. A home with a fenced dog friendly yard, no young children and no cats is required. Must have a sense of humor! Jessie will keep you on your toes! If you would like to add sweet joyful Jessie to your family, please complete an adoption application.

Rhett and Scarlet

Courtesy Post for our friends at Aussie Rescue Networking Group.
Rhett and Scarlet are bonded pair of three year old mini Australian shepherds. They weigh 32 pounds, love human attention and are sweet cuddle bugs.
Although they don’t seem to know much about the world, they are open to learning new things and follow each other on the leash walks.
These two truly are a pair! They are always touching and looking for each other. Rhett and Scarlet are a perfect instant family ❤️
They are good with other dogs. Unknown with cats but they are so gentle, it’s hard to imagine they’d have any problems with a cat.
If you are interested in more info about these two, please contact Lesley at dogadopt21@gmail.com. Located in Santa Barbara.

River

Female / 6 years old / 22lbs / Located in San Diego
Per owner:
River is very loving and affectionate! She loves to hug, get belly rubs and will be your little shadow. She knows all the basic commands like sit, stay, shake, high five, down and more. River loves to go on car rides especially to Fiesta Island dog beach where she can play fetch and dip her toes in the shoreline. She is good with cats and most other dogs. She does get upset if larger dogs bother her while she is eating but she is fine if fed separately.
River needs a home with a yard where she can be with her people most of the time. She has some separation anxiety and while she has not been destructive, she does bark at first and she has tried to nip/herd me when I leave. Trazodone has been a successful medication in helping her to be more relaxed when left alone. Interactive treats and bones help reduce barking also. River is spayed, up to date on shots and flea/tick/heartworm meds. She recently had a full teeth cleaning and is in great health. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please fill out our application and we will forward to her owner.

Jax

Male / 9 years old / 25 lbs (needs to lose some lbs though) / Located in San Diego
Per current owner- Jax is a shy boy who is a lovable velcro dog once he gets to know you. He is very food motivated and great on walks. He has been good with other dogs and does live with another dog now … they do their own thing but hang out together. No cats though, he chases them! Since Jax is so shy, a home without children would be best. He does have a sensitive tummy and currently is on a bland diet. Through no fault of his own, this little guy has been in a few homes since this past March.
If you are interested in adopting Jax, please complete our adoption application and we will forward to his owner.

Duma

Female / 10 months old / 27lbs / Located in Oceanside

“Duma is a very fun dog that loves to play and will be your best friend! She gets along very well with other dogs and loves to explore, go for long walks, and give snuggles. She is micro-chipped, current on shots and spayed. She should go to a home without young children as she is possessive of her food/treats. Duma has not ever bitten anyone to the point of injury, but she can be snippy if she thinks someone other than her main caretaker is trying to take her food away. We are confident that in the right home (without small children) she will thrive and bring loads of joy to your home.”

If you are interested in adopting Duma, please fill out our application and we will forward to her owner.

Duma requires a home with a fenced yard and someone able to engage and train with her. She does bark when people scare her. Respectful introductions are needed.
